Posting Jobs Finding Resumes Managing Candidates Other Solutions

Global Talent Management Transformation

To better understand how organizations are addressing talent management, IBM and the Human Capital Institute surveyed 1900 individuals from more than 1000 public and private sector organizations around the world about their organization's talent management capabilities. The respondents varied by position and included people involved with HR and non-HR functions. The surveyed companies represent a variety of industries, geographies and sizes. Combined with 49 follow-up interviews, financial analysis and secondary research, this groundbreaking study provides a unique window into the current state of talent management practices within organizations, the gaps that exist today and recommendations for bolstering this capability.

Allan Schweyer, Executive Director of the Human Capital Institute and Eric Lesser of the IBM Institute for Business Value shared the key findings from this research, including:

  1. The Payoff from Talent Management
  2. Closing the Gap between workforce strategy and execution
  3. Surviving corporate adolescence (why do mid-size organizations often fail in talent management?)
  4. Competing through effective talent management: An Industry Perspective

The presenters concluded with recommendations based on best and next practices gathered from the best performing organizations that answered the survey and were interviewed for the research.
