Manufacturing Professionals 2007 and BeyondJob Seeker Activity Report Key Take-Aways Manufacturing professionals continue to come to Monster for employment opportunities. There are over a half-million Manufacturing candidates registered in the Monster U.S. resume database, which continues to add nearly 2,000 new resumes per day. So far in 2007, job candidate growth remained stable, though slower than the large increase experienced over 2005 and 2006. Manufacturing job seekers continue to be willing to relocate. In general, Manufacturing job seekers are more optimistic about finding work locally; however, about 37% compared to 33% in all other Monster categories are open to the possibility of moving. For the most part, these candidates have more relevant training and experience, and include entry-level supervisors as well as seasoned managers. Manufacturing candidates are available on a temporary, contract or project basis. While job seekers in administrative and support roles are primarily looking for permanent employment, there are a variety of candidates with less experience and training willing to step into a temporary or contract opportunity.
