Insurance 2007 OutlookJob Seeker Activity Report Key Take-Aways Insurance professionals continue to come to Monster for employment opportunities. There are over 900,000 Insurance resumes registered in the Monster U.S. resume database, which continues to add over 1,000 new resumes per day. In 2006, job candidate growth remained stable, falling during the months of November and December, primarily due to a typical seasonal slowdown. Growth is expected to remain stable in 2007. Insurance professionals feel it’s getting more challenging to find work. More than half (57%) of respondents in a recent survey feel it is now more difficult than it was one year ago to find an insurance job. Although nearly all (86%) expect this trend to continue into the next year, Monster saw insurance job postings grow nearly 12% in the first quarter of 2007 suggesting a more competitive market for candidates. Insurance candidates are available on a temporary, contract or project basis. While an overwhelming majority of job seekers prefer permanent full-time employment, nearly 2/5 survey respondents recently conducted contractual work. 21% report contract work converting into a permanent position.
